Its summer and with all the “sea-themed” Stampin Up! sets available, let us not forget the beautiful Sea of Textures set introduced last year. I just completed a Demonstrator challenge and swap with the theme of “Summer”. And I could not resist bringing out this wonderful set for that challenge.
Normally I would have started with the Tranquil Textures DSP, but that has been retired. After all, this is a Demonstrator swap and we only use current items. But no worry! There is a terrific background stamp in this set that allows you to stamp a background that looks very much like the retires DSP! I used Coastal Cabana and stamped on Soft Sea Foam to achieve this look. A few background elements that look like seaweed were stamped in Calypso Coral and that was my background paper! The octopus was die cut along with the netting and the starfish.
The card was finished off with some of the Gingham Gala Sequins that looked very watery in color and a few enamel dots, just to give a bit of added interest as well as texture. And a scrap of burlap ribbon added some additional texture. After all, this is the “Sea of Textures” stamp set. 🙂
