Caring Leaves is one of the stamp sets at the back of the Holiday Mini Catalog that you might not notice right away. I was looking for fall stamp sets on my first run through on the catalog, so this set caught my eye on the first look.

I love the textured two-step stamping on the leaf images. And the simplicity of this set gives it so many possibilities. Not only that, the set is one of the best priced in the holiday mini at only $17 US.

Today’s  card design is very straightforward in design and plays up the leave art by showcasing it in 3 die cuts.  The die cuts are all textured on the edges, so that gives the card some lift.

I decided to add more texture by embossing the background using the Forever Plaid embossing folder.  This new embossing folder has been my “go to” embossing folder for a lot of my holiday cards. The folder is featured in the Holiday mini and you would miss it if you did not see it! But you don’t want to miss this one. It has lots of possibilities!  Also note, it is one of the new larger 6.5″ x 8″ embossing folders, so you can actually get two card fronts in the folder at once. Great for making lots of cards. And for scrapbookers, the extra size helps with 12″ x 12″ page layouts.

I also decided to try something a little artsy using this stamp set.  I created a “background paper” using the Of Art & Texture Stamp set, which was an Online Exclusive that sadly seems to have sold out! But if you have it, it is great for creating all sorts of artsy backgrounds.  Here is that card using the Caring Leaves as a focal point.
