This card was inspired by the need to have a card to go with a handmade food gift.  I have loved the Yummy Little Christmas set since I got it and now it is on sale!  I also wanted a chance to use the Kraft Rope Trim on a card.  So, this yummy little card will be perfect with any food gift you have wrapped and tied with the Kraft Rope trim!

The kraft rope trim seems like a difficult trim for a card because of the thickness.  But I was able to make it work by unravelling a bit of the rope and taping the end to the back of the card. This made the surface flat enough to work for layering the card stock.

I probably should have stamped the whisks in crumb cake, but I really liked the smoky slate once I did it. I love the detail of the whisk stamp and the way it looks as if it has some dimension.  You have a choice of 3 kitchen tool circles in this set, making it perfect for gift tags, invitations, recipe cards and place cards.  The image below shows you the all the stamp choices you have in the Yummy Little Christamas set. I say grab it this week while it is on sale!  This little set with 11 stamp designs solves a lot of your holiday gifting needs and can be used after the season as well!

I also used the Enamel dots to dress up the stamped images a little. On the middle image, I was able to use one of the new Simply Stitched dies.  I love how the perforated border really dresses up the look of a card.  Little things like adding the enamel dots and using a decorative framelit are simple ways of stepping up a card and making it really special.

This card is from a swap I did with my “Flo-Mo” friends. The “Flo-Mo” as we call ourselves,  is a group of Stampin’ Up friends, uplines and sidelines where some of us are in St Louis, Missouri and some are in Florida.  Today’s card was done by my good friend from Florida, Jackie Hardy.  I shared my card from this swap with you the other day and you can see it by clicking here!

Since I am originally from Florida, this card really caught my eye. The Seaside Shore stamp set is one of my favorites.  I admit I buy every beach, seaside, shell or lighthouse stamp set Stampin’ Up makes! But this stamp set is really special because the images are so versatile.

Our theme for the swap was fancy folds and this card is certainly that!  In our group, Jackie is well known for her great and innovative cards. When Jackie isn’t touring the country in one of her Mini Coopers, she is creating beautiful cards and sharing them with others.

This fold comes in the envelope flat, but with the use of tabs and slits, you can make it into a very pretty card that will stand up n nicely on a shelf or desk.  I tried to show a little bit of how the tab goes into the slit in the above picture.  Once you get it inserted all the way in, it doesn’t show and you have a great 3-d effect on this card.  The image below shows the card with both pieces out.  As you can see, the design leaves you plenty of room inside for adding your sentiment and a signature. The card also shows off a lot of In Colors, which makes it a great display card.

After trying a z-fold card myself and getting all these new ideas in a swap, I high recommend giving fancy fold cards a try.  Once you get the hang of cutting and scoring, they are a lot of fun.  And Pinterest has tons of ideas.  Just search fancy fold cards and it will bring up plenty of ideas. When I saw the color challenge for this week’s Global Design Project, I saw a retro fashion color story. A retro fashion story that needed a retro fashion stamp set!  So, I pulled out the brand new Beautiful You stamp set.  This stamp set is from the 2017 Occasions catalog which will debut January 4th!  At On Stage Atlanta, we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to win new stamp sets from the catalog.  Another perk of being a Demonstrator!

As Stampin’ Up Demonstrators, we get the opportunity to attend training sessions at various times of the year. Most of those meetings will also center around new product that is coming out soon.  We generally have the unique perk of being given stamp sets as part of our training or even more fun, winning one as a prize! Winning a stamp set from a new catalog gives Demonstrators a chance to come up with project and ideas in advance of the catalog launch.  This also gives you a chance to see what is new and get ideas!  A win win.

I also wanted to use a needle punched look along the borders of the frames.  Stampin’ Up has introduced a new line of  beautiful “Stitched Framelits” that would be perfect for this, but alas,  mine are still in transit, so I had to make do.  But if you want to take a look at the new framelits,  just click on the shop tab above. Stampin Up is previewing these framelits until the end of November.  After that,  you won’t see them again until the new catalog in June!

This card was designed just for the Global Design Project #GDP061. Challenges are a great way to see lots of ideas on a single theme.  This week’s challenge is a color challenge.  The challenge is to come up with a card using Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum and Black.  Please click on the image below to see what others are doing with this unique color scheme.
