Stamp without limits!

Love Without Limits
Love Without Limits

This is another  “untraditional” Valentine’s Day card.  You don’t have to have red in a card to make it appropriate for Valentine’s Day.  Sometimes the sentiment is enough.  And this one,  “Dream without fear, love without limits” is a sentiment stamp I have fallen in love with myself!  It can be used for a Valentine’s Day card, an encouragement card or even a home decor piece.  The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect set and this set lends itself to so many possibilities.  This photopolymer set features some “photo real” images from nature along with some untraditional sentiments.  The set is definitely for the stamper who likes to push the boundaries or be a little more artistic. With this card, I kept it simple.  I just wanted to show off the paper, Perfectly Artistic DSP from the “Limited-Time” Sale-A-Bration offer.  The paper is just lovely with 6 shades of subtle water color looking designs.  I hope we see more of this type paper from Stampin Up!  The paper is a great background paper and lends itself to so many looks from artsy to traditional.

The starfish stamp is a 2-step stamp.  Using 2 stamps gives the starfish a very realistic, almost dimensional look.  It is hard to see from the photo here, but these stamps almost make the starfish look like a photograph.  I also tried to “sparkle up” the image a little by coloring the image with the new Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.  It looks great in real life, but the photograph does not do it justice. At any rate, if you like a little glitter but don’t like the mess, try the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush!  It is fabulous!

You Send Me Soaring

You Send Me Soaring

This stamp set,  “The Sky is the Limit” sent me soaring to place an order when I first saw it as a Sale-A-Bration offer!  It is a perfect stamp set for making more masculine looking cards. It is also a “limited-time” stamp set, so if you want it you have until February 15th to get it!  I also love the Going Places DSP stack.  This paper stack has so many options for making cards that guys in your life will be delighted to get.  And finally, we are getting more choices for them! From Valentine’s to Birthdays, to Graduations, this little set has so many options for cards for the guys in your life.  Or the aviators.   It may be a “limited-time” stamp set, but it will stay in my collection for a while.

The stamps and paper offered the perfect opportunity to use the Lost Lagoon striped ribbon.  I kept the card totally monochromatic since fewer colors tend to be more masculine looking that lost of colors. I don’t know if that is a hard and fast rule. It is just something that makes sense to me. The antique airplane was fussy cut. I thought it looked so much better popped off the page. Popping it up also seemed to make the plane look like it was flying.

True Love Never Ends

True Love is a simple little card that I had an idea for once I thought about the heart punch and this stamp from the Beautiful Ride set.  It just seemed like this stamp was meant to be framed in a heart!  The color combo came from a desire to use these papers from the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Pack.  I love the colors in this paper pack! They are a wonderful combination of the Brights and Subtles mixed together. The sentiment stamp is from the Hello Life set, proving that stamp sets for kits have a life beyond putting the kit together!

The stamp from Beautiful Ride was colored in using the Stampin’ Write markers and blender pens as well.  I can’t say I am the master at using either, so I switch back and forth depending on what I want the coloring to look like.  By using both, I can usually achieve the colors and look I am after.  I think it turned out to be a very simple but very sure card.  Perfect for Valentine’s Day or “Just Because”.
