Hello Fall from Croptoberfest!

Today’s card is one I just created “Live at Croptoberfest”. We are all here at Lake of the Ozarks this weekend for Sally’s annual crop at the lake. While the weather is a little overcast, the air is crisp with fall and the leaves are starting to turn! My first project of the day was this card for the Global Design Project GDP005! The challenge this week was to create a card using Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzaz and Soft Sky. The background paper is a resist DSP from Stampin’ Up. The ribbon is white cotton ribbon simply colored with Pear Pizzaz and Daffodil Delight ink. I did each side different on the bow just for a change up. Since all I brought with me to the Lake were Fall and Holiday stamp sets, this presented a challenge, but one easily overcome if you are willing to break the rules a bit. Plus being a Florida girl, these really do seem like fall colors to me! I encourage you to check out what is happening over at www.Global-Design-Project.com for this challenge. Simply Lots of Joy at WCMD 2015!

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to attend WCMD 2015 in Atlanta. This is “World Card Making Day” and has become an annual event hosted by Pam Morris and Brian King. It was a fabulous day of fun, stamping and swapping! This is the card I made for the group swap. My effort was very small compared to some of the fabulous swaps I received! But I love the look of red against either Crumb Cake or Sahara Sand and I can’t stop experimenting with that color combination for holiday this year! You will notice in the recipe that even though I used Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake card stock, for the inks I used Real Red and Sahara Sand. Sometimes I don’t match the ink to the card stock. In this case, the Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake made the card too dark. Using the lighter inks popped the colors better on this card stock. So, I encourage you to experiment! You don’t always have to match the ink to the card stock you use. One of the main advantages of using Stampin’ Up products is that all the inks and papers tend to coordinate. That is one of the main things I love about Stampin’ Up.

Here I am with my table mates for the day and hosts Pam Morris and Brian King. It was wonderful to meet everyone. I definitely have some great new Stampin’ friends! And I have to say Pam Morris was really great at chronicling the day! She took pictures of every swap, every board, every table, every event and then posted them to the WCMD Facebook page. That was wonderful since I am terrible at recording anything!

Here we are swapping! It went pretty smooth considering there were almost 100 swappers in the line!

Still Jingling!

I didn’t intend to keep “jingling” this week! I usually try to mix up the stamp sets for variety, but I had limited time to get last week’s and this week’s posts all together and it was easy to work with one and come up with several designs to see what was “good enough” to be shown. Today’s card uses my favorite green for the season, Mossy Meadow. But I caution you about using this with the edgeless. There are a lot of fibers in the Mossy Meadow and it is hard to clean a clean cut. I was going to make these for a swap and I am changing to Old Olive because that color has less fiber and thus cuts cleaner. I think the dark colors just tend to be more “fibrous”. That is my tip for today! Keep on Jingling!
