Gather Together With A Great Recipe

August 21, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

I am pretty happy during the holidays. They don’t stress me out that much and I just enjoy each moment as it comes. But one thing that does drive me crazy is when everyone is asking me when Thanksgiving Dinner will be ready! I know there are games to be watched and outdoor football to play. But honestly, I don’t like everyone coming in the kitchen to check on what I am doing!

I found the perfect remedy for this problem a few years ago. It’s the Pumpkin Pie Dip recipe shown in today’s project. I whip up a bowl of that and set it out with some Ginger Snaps and I don’t hear a peep from anyone about anything until Thanksgiving dinner is ready!

I just participated in a decorated holiday recipe swap and I thought, why not share this miracle cure for holiday irritation? So, I chose my dip as the recipe for the decorated card and I think I have convinced a few friends to try this! It was fun to create and embellish such a fancy recipe card. A few die cuts, a scrap of ribbon and a wood embellishment was all it took to give this recipe card a holiday feel with a special look.

The swap was for a 3″ x 5″ decorated recipe card. You made 12 and got 12 back, all with a holiday theme. I plan to put mine in a decorated basket as part of my holiday decor. These will look so pretty in my kitchen during the holidays. And what fun to try everyone’s else’s “holiday cures”!

Love, Love Love of Leaves

August 19, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Yes, I will say it out loud. I love, love Love of Leaves! Its such a pretty set and who can resist a new leaves stamp set for fall crafting? Not only are the stamps beautiful, but you can do so much by just using the matching die cuts.  In fact my card today has only a sentiment stamped. Everything else is paper and die cuts. The stitched background is perfect for a fall card and I love the way you can die cut the leaves with the same stitched look.

This card was a snap to do using the die cuts and a sentiment from the Banner Year set with the coordinating Banners Pick A Punch.  I will let you in on a little secret about this years Holiday Mini catalog. Look carefully at the stamp sets offered and you will see that many sets have sentiments and artwork for many seasons, not just fall and holiday.

For example, the Banner Year stamp set covers everything from Halloween to Thanksgiving and on to Valentine’s Day. You can make cards, tags and packaging with this one set for so many occasions. So, when looking through the holiday mini catalog, look carefully at all the sentiments some of the stamp sets have. If you choose carefully, you will be crafting all year long!

And look carefully through the paper and embellishments. You will see that many of those have designs and colors that will take you further than just the holidays. This attention to putting so much thought and value into products is one of the reasons I love using Stampin’ Up! exclusively.

Here’s Halloween With Harvest Hellos!

August 14, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Here we go! Summer is winding down in a month and fall will be here! While I love the early sunshine of summer mornings and the late sunsets, I will be happy to see cooler days ahead.

The thought of fall on the way got me motivated to work on a Halloween card using one of my favorite sets, Harvest Hellos. If you want one stamp set that will do it all for fall cards, this is it. From back-to-school teacher gifts to Halloween to Thanksgiving, this stamp set covers it all. With the matching punch you can create pumpkins or apples, your choice!

As you can see, I stamped pumpkins with a Jack o’ Lantern face and punched those out along with a plaid pumpkin for the sentiment. This card could easily be redesigned for a Thanksgiving – Harvest card and even the sentiment would still work!

I layered them all on a strip of Plaid from the Plaid Tidings DSP on a Pumpkin Pie embossed with the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder to give the card some interest. Then, I added in a few die cut leaves in Shaded Spruce to make the card pop.

With a punch and a paper cutter, this card was a snap to make. And with a few changes, it can be Halloween, Harvest, Teacher or Thanksgiving. Your choice!
