Happy Birthday From The Clubhouse

February 20, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Clubhouse Stampin' Up!

If golfing is a thing for you or anyone in your family, the Country Club Suite is a must have! With such a unique set of stamps, papers and embellishments, golfing fans have been waiting on this set for a long time! I used to be a golfer and I know enough golfers to want to send them a really special birthday card. So, for me Country Club was an easy choice. The plaids & argyles are beautiful enough to have just for the paper if golf stamps aren’t on your list.  Click on the image below to view the papers and accessories as well as the stamps and dies.

This card uses the DSP, the Argyle Embossing Folder and the matching dies as well as the matching Twine. The possibilities are endless with this set and I look forward to seeing what I can do with the plaid papers!  The bold colors along with the Argyle and Plaid patterns are great for masculine themed cards of all types, not just golf!

Pressed Petals DSP Is Perfect For Valentines!

February 13, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Here is quick and easy card using Pressed Petals DSP and a Valentine-perfect sentiment from Incredible Like You.  I had been on a personal challenge to use more of the Pressed Petals DSP.

It is a beautiful paper and I love vintage looks for Valentine’s cards. This was very quick and simple to put together because the gorgeous paper is most of the card! I kept the add ons and layering confined to a small space at the bottom of the card to show off the paper. The Merry Merlot was chosen to frame the paper because I thought it really popped the flowers on the DSP. The DSP is coordinated with Mossy Meadow, but I thought Old Olive brightened up the card, so I used Old Olive as the case card stock. What’s really funny is I used the Old Olive side of the Pretty Peacock-Old Olive 3/8″ Ribbon and Mossy Meadow Linen Thread, but each looks like the other! But, I think it worked.

The sentiment uses Swirly Frames, the sentiment from Incredible Like You and Merry Merlot Hearts  cut using the Detailed Bees dies. Because I am always looking for “more” I punched out a couple of leaves I had stamped using the Painted Harvest set. I didn’t really need them as they disappear into the background, but I liked them, so I kept them. I could have added a Merry Merlot accent with the leaves, but I think that would  have been going too far! A little bit of ribbon and some twine and the card was done. It couldn’t get any simpler than that!

I hope you all have a nice Valentine’s Day!

Perfectly Framed On Pressed Petals For Valentine’s Day

February 11, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Here’s a card you can make for Valentine’s Day when  you don’t happen to have any Valentine’s Day stamps. Not that many of us don’t have plenty of Valentine’s Day stamps! But I wanted to do something different and I have been challenging myself to use more of the Pressed Petals DSP.  I really love it and I want Stampin’ Up! to give us more of this type paper!

For this card, I cut out one of the wreaths you can find in this DSP.  I stamped the sentiment in the middle of it and was just going to layer the entire wreath with its background on a solid piece of card stock. But I didn’t think it was enough, so I fussy cut the wreath and then took another piece of the DSP and die cut a stitched oval from it and stamped the sentiment on that.  If I had worked a little  harder and planned better, I could have had the die cut oval match exactly. But that only occurred to me afterwards! But I played around until I got a look I like and then popped it up with dimensionals,  which I think made the card much more interesting. Adding to another layer of DSP helped as well.

I tied it all together using some linen thread and made  one of those big old bows everyone is so in love with and  considered it done! The hearts are die cuts from the Detailed Bee Dies.  To me, this looks a bit like a vintage Valentine’s Day card. And I got to use more of the Pressed Petals DSP. I hope they make more of this type paper. I love the antique look of it. And I am not even an antique kind of person!
