Today’s card is all about stamping simply and having fun!  I wanted to create something that was trendy looking and easy to do.  With some selections from the “Pick a Pattern” Suite of products and the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set, this card was a snap! No pun intended!

Sometimes I put the card before the horse and this is one of those times.  I love everything in the Pick a Pattern suite and all the pieces are on my wish list.  But for some reason I have the DSP, but not the stamp set!  Not to worry!  Stampin’ Up! has so many choices in stamps I knew I had something already in my collection to fit the paper.  And Thankful Thoughts fit perfectly! The playful font in the sentiment is perfect with the trendy, playful look of the paper and embellishments.

This card was so simple to do.  Cut out a few shapes with the Lots of Labels Framelits and the Stitched Squares Framelits and you are have all you need for a cool, layered look.  A few scraps of ribbon and twine clipped on with a fun paper clip completes the look.

Happy 4th everyone!  I am showing a sampler made from parts of a swap and a class I did.  Between the 2 events, I had enough sampler pieces to do 2 sampler boards. Happy me! For the last year I have been doing a monthly swap with other Demonstrators who formed a group of nine just so we would have new samplers on hand every month.  Each Demonstrator takes a month and sets the theme, colors and design for the month.  For this month, I was the lucky captain of the swap and choose Night of Navy, Real Red and Whisper white as the colors.  The design had to use some sort of silver metallic “bling”. It did not matter if it was foil, glimmer paper or embossing.

Above is a combination of what everyone came up with for the swap, plus some things we used in a class that 4 of us are teaching for seasonal samplers.  Below is a banner I made using some of the samplers I did not put in the collage.

A patriotic theme was a real challenge for the Demonstrator swap.  We only use current Stampin’ Up! product and with out due dates for these, we were only just in a new catalog. For the class, we bend the rules a little.  As you can see, our Demonstrator group was really creative using floral stamps for fireworks, a holiday stamp set and many techniques.  As hard as I thought this was going to be, they turned out great!  This month is Christmas in July and I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Here is a quick and simple card if you don’t have a lot of time.  It could be just to say hi to someone you know or to actually welcome someone to the neighborhood.  I used the Just Add Color Specialty DSP and colored in just a few places so I could match it back to this beautiful new stitched edged ribbon. The final touch was a die cut oval and I was done!

The card really was created just to use one of the new 1/4″ Stitched-Edge Ribbons. I love all the colors in this ribbon, but the Pumpkin Pie version really caught my eye. It seems to be a rather soft color of Pumpkin Pie and for that reason, I used Peekaboo Peach as to color in the Just Add Color Specialty Paper. Then I layered the colored paper with Peekaboo Peach as well.  An easy to create card! The possibilities for simple, quick cards are endless with the Just Add Color paper.  You have a choice of 6 designs of paper, all begging to be colored in and cut out for card fronts!  If you love the peace and joy of coloring, this is a paper you may want to try!
