Thanksgiving With Cheerful Daisies

September 13, 2024 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Here is another idea for a Thanksgiving Theme card using the Cheerful Daisies set from the main catalog.  A couple of weeks ago, I did another version of a Thanks giving card with this set you can see HERE.  For this version, I really wanted to use the Sketched Plaid stamp background stamp. This plaid stamp is so versatile and works for many looks. For a fall card, it is perfect stamped in Cajun Craze on the Crumb Cake background.

The Cheerful Daisies Dies were used to cut out the daisies and branches.  I kept the card very simple because the plaid and the Cajun Craze color is the focus of the design. I added in a few of the Textured Dots (which are finally back in stock!) for some interest around the sentiment since it is a bit small. I combined sentiments from Sentimental Park and Choose Happy to create this sentiment. You could just use the “Happy” from Choose Happy, but I love the “let’s Celebrate: from Sentimental Park and go back to that time and time again to create “custom” sentiments like this one.

Its A More Than Autumn Time of Year

September 6, 2024 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

The new Holiday Mini Catalog is now live and this is one of the new sets. “More Than Autumn was on my “must have” because it covers almost all everything you can think of for fall cards plus more!  As you can see below, this card has a lot elements you can mix & match to create your perfect fall card. I am not a coffee drinker, so I love that it covers Hot Cocoa, Cider and Eggnog in addition to coffee.  And look at all the dies! Click on the image below to learn more.

This set offers you unlimited design options for cards, scrapbook pages, recipe cards, gift tags and as many more projects as you can think of!  It will last you right through the Christmas holidays and beyond.

Stampin’ tip:

With small dies, it can be hard to get the intricate pieces of the die cut to release from the die. To solve this issue, I save the shiny backing from my Stampin’ Dimensionals. If you are like me, you use every last bit of these and the borders on the Dimensionals. Cutting die shapes from the Deimensionals backing puts a coating from this backing onto your die that will help the paper release much better. I find the Dimensionals backing is better than waxed paper, which is what I used to use. The Dimensionals backing has much more coating on it than waxed paper, so it is much more efficient. Just cut with the shiny side up and your dies will start working much better releasing the paper! I found it particularly helpful on the leaf and word dies from this set.

Make A Wish With The August 2024 Paper Pumpkin!

August 28, 2024 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

One of the many things I love about Paper Pumpkin is how versatile the kit is. I often take the cards and cut them apart and layer the card fronts and backs with solid color Stampin’ Up card stock to create double the cards in the kit. And very often there are enough leftovers in the kit to create extra cards! This month, I ended up with a few extra and came up with the card design above. The design is layered on a card that has been cut in half and use as the base for the design. For the card on pink, all the parts are from the kit except for the gold cord, which I took from my stash and added Gold Sequins to bling everything up. I had used up all the copper cord that came in the kit! So, I had to change to gold.  The gold works fine with the copper elements in the candle die cuts!  And if you have enough of the copper cord left over, the Neutrals Swquins pack has copper sequins in it.

For the card on the Moody Mauve base, I die cut a label from the Tags die cuts and used the stamp from the set.  Actually I could see making many of this card design using other patterned paper scraps and the stamps from this Paper Pumpkin set!  I actually made about 16 cards from this one set by cutting all the card fronts in half and using them as bases for alternative card designs.

Here is a look at the Stamp Set and card designs that came with this Paper Pumpkin kit.  I didn’t think that the July kit could be beat this month, but this one was definitely a contender for best Paper Pumpkin kit ever!

I also took the fold-out card in the kit and layered it onto Pecan Pie card stock for an elevated look. I also added Copper Sequins from the Neutral Sequins pack you can see in the supplies at the bottom of this post. I think adding the Pecan Pie card stock gave the card a more masculine look. I really liked this color combo.

I hope you enjoyed a look at this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit and take a look at what is coming up for September below. This kit will have all sorts of die cuts in it that are fall themed. I cannot wait for this one!  You can subscribe for the September kit by clicking on the image below. Just remember to suscribe by September 10th!
