Music Of The Heart For When Words Are Not Enough

January 30, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Music From The Heart

I don’t buy much Valentine’s Day because I generally don’t have enough time after all the rush of the holidays to get much done! So, I love sets that can do double duty as a Valentine’s Day card. And Music of the Heart is one of those sets you will use for soooo many occasions! From Birthday to Thank You to Anniversary to Valentine’s, what you can create with a set like this is   limited only by your imagination.

This is a special stamp set because it was inspired by Million Dollar Sales Achiever, Dawn Olchefske. Dawn has had a life long interest in music which inspired her special stamp set. Dawn blogs at DOStamping.com  And if you didn’t know, she figures out and shows the measurements for many die sets on her blog posts!  I often go to her site just for this info!

But Dawn’s real specialty is creating simple, easy to duplicate cards. The fresh, modern design of this stamp set really has her “look”.  With versatile sentiments and easily arranged artwork, this stamp set can create so many looks!

This card was done for a Demo Challenge this week. The challenge is with a group of local Demos who meet once a month, have dinner together, talk stamping and swap cards! Who wouldn’t love to do that? We have a great time and swap cards that will inspire customers with current stamp sets for general or seasonal occasions. Our theme this month is “Love and/or Valentine’s”. I knew immediately I was going to use the Music From The Heart set for my design! And with my personal challenge to use “Swirly Frames” and other background stamps more, the design came together easily.

So, if you are looking for something new and different in stamp sets, I encourage you to take a look at Music From The Heart.

Thoughtful Blooms Is Spring Imagined!

Thoughtful Blooms

I made this card using a stamp set you can get for free with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. It was part of personal challenge this week to use the Swirly Frames set more. Stampin’ Up! has a number of great accent and background stamps and Swirly Fames is one of those. I wanted to use this particular stamp set as it creates such a unique look for a card by framing other stamp designs or sentiments.

For this design, I decided to combine the Swirly Frames with the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set, which you can’t buy at any price, but you can earn with a qualifying order of at least $50. You have until March 31st to get it!

Also for this card I decided to use the 2018-2020 In Colors. Even though we have had them since the 2018 catalog launch, I am really going to miss these when they retire at the end of June. They are such a bright and happy group of colors.

The design was simple with just one corner rounded off.  I kept the look bright and cheery with the gingham InColor DSP background. I wanted it to look like spring and I think it does.

Positive Thoughts That Spring Will Be Here Soon

January 23, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Well, thinking that spring might be here soon in January might be overly optimistic. But I couldn’t resist thinking about that and bringing out this beautiful set on a cold, cold day like today! And you know what they say about thinking positively!

This was an easy card to put together. I love, love, love the Pressed Petals DSP, but I don’t always know what to do with it. But this burlap paper is one of my favorite designs in the pack, even though it is simply a background paper. I love it because is looks so real. Just like I actually put down a piece of burlap as my background. And because this is a lightweight Designer Paper, it is very easy to add a stamped design to it.

For some real texture, I crimped a piece of Crumb Cake card stock with the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder and then added a bit of braided linen trim. Using the Stitched Rectangle dies added even more texture. I love texture because it makes a card look really interesting and adds depth. It also makes a card look like you spent a lot of time on it!

Simple to put together and don’t you feel like spring already? 🙂
