Make A Wish With The August 2024 Paper Pumpkin!

August 28, 2024 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

One of the many things I love about Paper Pumpkin is how versatile the kit is. I often take the cards and cut them apart and layer the card fronts and backs with solid color Stampin’ Up card stock to create double the cards in the kit. And very often there are enough leftovers in the kit to create extra cards! This month, I ended up with a few extra and came up with the card design above. The design is layered on a card that has been cut in half and use as the base for the design. For the card on pink, all the parts are from the kit except for the gold cord, which I took from my stash and added Gold Sequins to bling everything up. I had used up all the copper cord that came in the kit! So, I had to change to gold.  The gold works fine with the copper elements in the candle die cuts!  And if you have enough of the copper cord left over, the Neutrals Swquins pack has copper sequins in it.

For the card on the Moody Mauve base, I die cut a label from the Tags die cuts and used the stamp from the set.  Actually I could see making many of this card design using other patterned paper scraps and the stamps from this Paper Pumpkin set!  I actually made about 16 cards from this one set by cutting all the card fronts in half and using them as bases for alternative card designs.

Here is a look at the Stamp Set and card designs that came with this Paper Pumpkin kit.  I didn’t think that the July kit could be beat this month, but this one was definitely a contender for best Paper Pumpkin kit ever!

I also took the fold-out card in the kit and layered it onto Pecan Pie card stock for an elevated look. I also added Copper Sequins from the Neutral Sequins pack you can see in the supplies at the bottom of this post. I think adding the Pecan Pie card stock gave the card a more masculine look. I really liked this color combo.

I hope you enjoyed a look at this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit and take a look at what is coming up for September below. This kit will have all sorts of die cuts in it that are fall themed. I cannot wait for this one!  You can subscribe for the September kit by clicking on the image below. Just remember to suscribe by September 10th!

Cheerful Daisies For A ThanksGiving Card

August 25, 2024 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

So I can get started on holiday cards right away, I came up with this design using the Cheerful Daisies stamp set from the main catalog. This stamp set works perfect with the Wildly Flowering pattern paper, which is on sale at 15% off through Saturday!  It’s a perfect patterned paper for fall card making. It matches all the 2023-2025 In Colors, which have been my favorite fall colors.

I kept the design simple since the embossed background and the large die cut of the daises is a big focal point. For this reason, I used only a 2.5″ strip of the patterned paper as a full background would have been too busy for me.

To make the sentiment, I used 2 stamps sets, Sentimental Park for the “Let’s Celebrate” sentiment and the Thanksgiving word stamp from my “must have” set, Choose Happy.

It’s a simple card design with most of the “wow” factor added with the Eyelet 3-D Embossing Folder for the background and the amazing die cuts using the Cheerful Daisies dies. I made another “Thanksgiving” card using this set I will show in a few days. It’s been fun working with this beautiful stamp set again!

Choose Happy For Halloween!

August 21, 2024 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

This is a  Halloween card using some of the new Ephemera in the Main Catalog.  These are brand new for Stampin’ Up! and once I get used to creating with these, I am sure I will use these lots more.  You can see the Ephemera Packs HERE!

For this card, I started out with a base of Crumb Cake and stamped a plaid design with the Sketched Plaid background stamp. This is a stamp in the main catalog and is a carry over from last year, so you may already have this in your stamp collection. For me, this is a “Holiday Must Have” just because of the versatility of this stamp. You can basically make your own background papers with it!  I used Basics Gray ink on the Crumb Cake. It looks like black, but the Basics Gray is a little softer in look and I like it better.

Once I dad the background down, I started selecting Ephemera to make a collage. I chose Ephemera that was all in black ink. The only exception was a Garden Green piece that I really liked, so I just colored it with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend to get the color I wanted. The flowers are all colored in with a Pumpkin Pie and Ivory Stampin’ Blend.

To make the sentiment, I used word stamps and pumpkins from the Choose Happy stamp set. This is another “must have” because it has elements for a variety of holidays and occasions. It’s one of those versatile sets you will reach for time and time again. I chose the “HAPPY, BOO and DAY” word stamps to create a sentiment.  The pumpkins were colored in using a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend!

This is a card created entirely from elements available to you from Stampin’ Up! It’s a good illustration that you can create many looks using the supplies you have on hand! As a Demo, I have gotten a sneak peak of the new Holiday Ephemera in the Holiday Mini coming out very soon. For cards, tags, home decor and scrapbook pages, the Ephemera packs are going to be great to create with.
