Winter Wishes-Global Design Project-#GDP009

November 5, 2015 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

15-1106-0237Wow! It has been a few days since I posted and I was determined to get a card in for the Global Design Project this week.  I loved the challenge this week of a design using Tip Taupe Taupe, Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron.  And I decided to challenge myself by taking this color story and using Winter Wishes in the design.

I have been having so much fun with The Global Design Challenge and I really missed participating.  But alas, work has kept me really busy the last couple of weeks and away from my stamp table!  But I am resolved not to let this happen again.  See what they are doing over there: Global Design Project

Just like missing your exercise, when you don’t stamp you get really out of shape.  When you stamp all the time, you can just sit down and go to work…the creative juices just start flowing.  But tonight, I was like someone who hadn’t gotten up from in front of the TV for months.  I was really sort of “winded” by the time I finished this card. I couldn’t remember how to use my Big Shot, I couldn’t find my 1/8″ punch…it was like I was trying to run uphill after not running at all!  And those of you who have stamped with me know I like a neat desk. In fact, I started out with a perfectly clean desk.  But as “out of shape” as I was, my desk suffered the worst of it. See the picture of that disaster below!  Well, more “stampin exercise” since I get to clean it up now.  And one thing I like almost as much as stamping is organizing my “stuff”. If you can’t get the creative juices flowing, spend a while just sorting and organizing! It is great fun!

So, now I know,  just like I need to get to Curves every few days, I also need to get in my stamp studio every few days. It will just be “healthier” for me!  Really!  While stamping may not improve my physical health as much as exercise, it does wonders for my mental health! And I am sure you all have been there.  Just a few hours stamping and everything seems better!

My very messy desk!

You were not “out of shape” on this card, Susan. I love how all of your layers originate along the top of this card. What a great choice! Such a pretty card and great use of these colors. I’m so happy you played along with this week’s Global Design Project Color Challenge. Thanks!

Getting in the craft room is great for anyone’s mental health, I simply couldn’t agree with you more Susan. And your efforts certainly paid off. I adore the layered stamped background of your wonderful card. The die cut Skate elements is the perfect finishing touch. Thanks for playing at Global Design Project this week.

Wonderful layering of those images. You have created a fantastic background to make that sentiment pop. I also adore the cut out skates. Nice way to make your own embellishment. Thanks for sharing with us at Global Design Project.
