The challenge for this week’s Global Design Project #GDP143 was to share a project that showed what “makes you live for stamping and creativity”. I couldn’t imagine a better way that using this month’s Paper Pumpkin, which features birthday cards and is designed around the Broadway Bound Suite in the new catalog!
I am mostly a card maker and I make cards to share in my family and friends’ life events. That is what I love about stamping and creativity. The cards are usually all about happiness and celebrations, but now and then I make something that offers comfort and hope. And I am sure you are like me and many stampers in that you donate or contribute a fair amount of your creations to charities, churches and other worthwhile organizations. Check out the other creations people are sharing for this challenge by clicking on the image below.
But, as this card says, I like to “Celebrate the Good Stuff” with people I love! And I like to share stamping with others and hope they will love this hobby as much as I do. Paper Pumpkin is a great way to get started and help you learn how to stamp. You invest a little each month and you create a lot! I was particularly excited about this month’s set because of the coordination with products in the catalog! I haven’t gotten the Broadway Birthday stamp set yet (I will soon!), but I did have some paper and embellishments on hand! Easy peasy!

Below I list all the items I used in the card. But honestly, the Paper Pumpkin kit comes with everything you need to create the projects, including the stamps, inks and adhesives! You just need a pair of scissors to cut any beautiful ribbons or twine that come in the kits, but that’s about all I can think of you need. For my card, I substituted the Red Rhinestones for the pearls that came in the kit. The kit also has gold sequins with adhesive backs. How cool is that? I also added the metallic Candle Embellishments from the Broadway Bound Suite. The the Gold Embossed “number paper” is from the Broadway Bound DSP.
Everything else is in the kit, including the gorgeous black & gold twine and decorated envelopes! I stamped a candle from the Picture Perfect Birthday set on my envelope, for fun! And as I mentioned, a Stampin’ Spot ink pad comes with the kit, but I show the full size stamp pad below so you know what color I am using. This kit will create 8 cards. But I may cut some of the cards in half, mount on matching card stock and make even more! There are hundreds of ideas on Pinterest for Paper Pumpkin kits! I am amazed at what some people can do with these kits!
Really, you need to sign up for Paper Pumpkin today and start having all the fun with us! You would have to sign up by the 10th of the month to get that month’s kit. I show a Prepaid 3-month subscription below. But you can sign up month-to-month. You will be billed right after the 10th of the month. And you can cancel or “take a break” anytime, again as long as you do it before the 10th of the month! The holidays are coming and the kits are fabulous for that time of year! I wasn’t sure I was going to like this one until I saw your card! I just love it now!
Jackie, I have to admit I thought that too! But once I saw the Broadway Bound DSP I saw the possibilities!
Bright & cheerful. Love the design!
Thanks Jayne! I am thinking the other cards will get cut in half and mounted on Black card stock so I can make more of them!!!
