Here’s a simple card I made for yet another swap! Last week I was in Orlando, Florida meeting with Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the world. It was a wonderful time to meet, share and reconnect with everyone.
This swap was for a gathering of my group from Florida and my adopted group from my new home in St Louis Missouri! We call ourselves the Flo-Mo group and its wonderful to get everyone together for each Stampin’ Up! event.
I wanted to use the Making Christmas Bright Stamp set. But I had a hard time coming up with a “contemporary look” I liked. I decided this stamp set looked pretty vintage and tried putting it with papers and elements from the Farmhouse Christmas Suite and I think it worked!
For added interest, I used the Subtle Texture Dynamic Embossing Folder. I think this added to the “vintage look”. It is hard to see it in the image, but “texturizing” you card stock with this Embossing Folder really gives it a “stepped up” look.
You will also notice from the Products list below that while my color scheme uses darker colors, I used lighter colors of Stampin’ Blends to color in the string of lights. I do this often because the actual color is often too dark. So, I try out a few lighter colors to see what works best.
