Today’s card is for the Global Design Project Challenge #GDP230, which is a sketch challenge. I have had this idea for a card using Honey Bee, but I was never motivated to actually do it until I saw my e-mail about the challenge. When I saw the sketch, I thought the idea could really work for this challenge! For this card, I wanted a bit of a vintage look using crumb cake and another color. Well, since it all about the bees, Crush Curry was an obvious choice for my pop color. I was going to use a plain card stock for the background, but I went through my DSP swatch books just to see if something would work and found the perfect pattern in the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP. I thought it worked much better than plain card stock.
I had to add a bow, so I made that simple with just some linen thread. And at the end, I decided to color in the yellow flowers and the bees wings with Wink of Stella. It doesn’t show up in the photo I took, but it was a perfect touch to add some subtle glitter.
