For today’s card, I needed a little inspiration and the card sketch at Case This Sketch #390 was just the thing. I had seen this sketch on another blog and loved the layout. I wanted to make it a harvest theme card and some of the new 2020-2022 In Colors helped me do just that, I think! To see more of the fabulous designs using this sketch, just click on the image below.
I wanted to stay true to the sketch, so Forever Fern is always my “go to” for botanical designs. I just love this stamp set. You can work in so many color stories with it. And because there is such a variety of stamps, the layout possibilities are endless. Once I did the background, I thought it needed more. I considered an embossing folder, but I wanted something different. The stitched border die in the Stitched Leaves die was just the thing to give the open space a little texture.
The sentiment is stamped on a strip of Vellum card stock. I am terrible stamping on Vellum, so I use Stazon Black ink. This ink stamps on vellum with no smears every time I use it. I used a sentiment and border from Celebration Tidings stamp set to reinforce the harvest theme. Then colored it in a bit using Stampin Write markers in the coordinating colors.
I stayed with In Colors and finished off the card with some Cinnamon Cider ribbon and scatted a few Bumble Bee Enamel dots. Layered on a pice of Cinnamon Cider color DSP from the Flowers for Every Season DSP pack set the stamped panel off perfectly.
