It’s starting to feel like fall and as the sentiment from Banner Year says, “Happy Fall Y’all”. It will be a few weeks until leaves start turning here, but the cool nights are back and there’s a freshness in the air you feel only when the temperatures and humidity begins to fall.
This card started from a pile of “pieces” I had on my desk from making other cards. The heart with the Linen Thread bow was an used piece from another design and it was sitting on top of a plaid punched apple from another, quite by accident! I looked at it an thought the bow looked so cute on the apple, I just had to make a card with it.
Because I had the heart with the bow already cut out, I had to find a paper that would be perfect for it. The plaid apple it was sitting on was a completely different color scheme with no Bumblebee yellow in it at all. After going through my swatch book of plaids, I decided this was my favorite choice.
The rich Merry Merlot plaid is a perfect background for Bumblebee yellow. Its a great “light-dark” story. And while the stripes in the plaid may be a shade of Mango Melody, I think it works perfectly with Mango Melody! I put the punched apple on a Bumblee yellow background that was die cut and embossed. Then I used a sentiment from Banner Year along with one of my new favorite things, the Banners Pick a Punch.

Thank you Brian! I am glad you like it. Stay safe. I hear Sally is headed your way. Not “our Sally”, but hurricane Sally!
