Ahoy There for #GDP086 Sketch Challenge

May 9, 2017 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

#GDP086, SEASDIE SHORE, AHOY THERE, STAMPIN' UP!

Seaside Shore and By the Shore DSP For #GDP086

Thank goodness the Seaside Shore is a carryover set!  I love the “Ahoy There” sentiment along with all the other stamps in the set. But, the By the Shore DSP I will really miss.  It is a perfectly put together set of designs with fabulous colors.  So, to show this DSP a little more love before retirement, I decided to feature it in my card for this week’s Global Design Project.  The challenge is a sketch project, which is easy and hard all at the same time.  Easy because you have a card design! Hard because you have to figure out what will fit into that layout.  The By the Shore DSP answered that challenge. Mine is not the only design with this fabulous sketch. Be sure to hop over to the Global Design page and see what everyone else is up to.  Click on the image below:

#GDP086, GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT SKETCH CHALLENGE 086

As you can see in my card, I layered a stripe right across the front instead as a background layer. I just liked the look.  And one of the many wonderful things about the Global Design Challenge is that you can follow your own muse!  I used two variations of the starfish paper. And then took my favorite little banner, “Ahoy There” and fussy cut it to layer on the greeting tab.  Two fussy cut seashells completed the look. Night of Navy was the perfect pairing for a nautical look.

Love the By the shore DSP?  Don’t despair! While it is on the retired list, you can still buy it while supplies last or May 31st, whichever comes first! Click HERE! to see all the retiring papers, stamps and everything else.  If there is anything you cannot live without, your chance to get it is ending soon!

Sunshine Wishes, DELIGHTFUL DIJON, STAMPIN' UP!

Okay, so I am on a “thing” this week with Delightful Dijon! But the “thing” about going through retiring products is that you fall in love all over again!  I just couldn’t stop showing some love to Delightful Dijon one more time this week. I had such fun figuring out new designs with the Scenic Scenery DSP stack and this color!  I am sure you have a good stash of this paper in your craft room, so I encourage you to get it out and see what you can some up with.  It is a good way to stay busy this month until the new catalog goes live on June 1st!

You can’t wait for June 1st or you are tired of the retiring In Colors 2015-2017?  Well, Stampin’ Up is trying something new this year and offering customers a preview order for a special group of products for the Eastern Palace Suite. Check it out by clicking on the image below.

EASTERN PALACE, STAMPIN' UP

This new suite of products features some of the new In Colors for 2017-2019!  The stamp set, papers and coordinating items are all luxurious and opulent in design.  I know you will love it!

Delightful Dijon And Hope

May 4, 2017 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Delightful Dijon was the color of the day for this card.  And the pink ribbon was just an afterthought.  With the sentiment “hope”, I thought why not use a pink ribbon?  I don’t think there are any hard and fast rules for what colors work with a pink ribbon and using Delightful Dijon as the main color only makes the pink ribbon stand out.  And when sending a card of hope, you want the message to stand out.

This card is part of my “tour of the retiring In Colors 2015-2017”.  Stampin’ Up! rotates a selection of 5 colors into the line for a 2 year run.  It is an easy way to add some new spark to the color line up and take advantage of the newest color trends.  I love the In Colors!  I find even if I don’t warm up to them at first, after a few project these colors become well-loved.  I have to admit I wasn’t crazy about Delightful Dijon when I first saw it.  But I am really going to miss it now.

The paper is from the Scenic Scenery DSP stack.  If you loved that, you will love the Wood Textures DSP stack in the catalog debuting in June 1st!  Watch the video below for more details! (click on the image to open the video)
