I am sure you have those times when someone sent you a card during the holidays and you forgot them on your list and need a fast card to send out!  That does happen or I need an unexpected Thank You card when none in my “stash”  work for the situation.  The Serene Scenery DSP Paper Stack is a quick way to create a beautiful card with little effort and most of the design work is done for you!

This was a card I had designed back in the summer and never put together.   I originally wanted it for the 4th of July, but I never got around to actually making it for the 4th!  “Sitting Here” was an early favorite and perfect for summer.  Well things happen for a reason and when I checked into Global Design Project yesterday, the challenge was a CASE of a Bibi Cameron card featuring this stamp set! So, this was meant to be!  I am sure there are a lot of other examples of this stamp set on the Global Design Project, so for ideas check out #GDP056 here!

The card design was inspired by both the stamp set and the landscaping I had just done in my front yard.  I had laid down new mulch, new flowers and was really ready for the summer.  Next year my goal is to have a swing on the front porch.  For now, I have a red bench that I like just fine….until I can find that perfect porch swing!

For the card, I stamped just the swing at first and then colored in the bench seat.  The pillows were stamped and then cut out so I could pop them with dimensionals.  Then I realized the card needed more.  The branches from the retired set “Summer Silhouettes” was the perfect way to add some “atmosphere” and case the left hand design Bibi has.  I took the idea from how the photograph at right had a few branches showing. The sentiment is a combination of 3 stamp sets: Celebrate You and a few retired sets.  I wanted to keep it looking “4th of July” as I can use the card next year!

The yard is starting to move into “fall” now.  I will be cutting back branches, raking leaves and watching what I call my yard “going gray” for the winter.  But this card is a nice reminder summer will be back!

On another note, I am wishing my friends and family in Florida to be safe and hopefully this storm will pass soon and will little impact!
