What’s Wrong With This Card?

June 17, 2016 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Honestly, I thought this was a great card until I posted the picture!  If you look closely, the fish are all upside down!  I glued it down wrong! Oh well. I had gotten this paper from a share and had no more, so I had to go with this mistake! Just use it as a lesson in what not to do!

Other than the wrong way paper here, I love anything to do with the beach, seaside or ocean themes.  So, of course, this stamp set was one I had to try. I love everything about it except the sentiment stamp shown.  The font on the sentiment is made to look a little blurry.  I had stamped this several times thinking I was doing something wrong and then looked at the cover on the stamp case and then the page in the catalog.  This is the way it stamps! I think it is supposed to look like the font is floating underwater, which is a pretty cute idea.  I may try another version of this as a shaker card, which will utilize this style font in a much more interesting way.  Other than the wrong way fish, I liked how the card came out.  I think this set has a lot of possibilities and I can’t wait to try more!

Just Love The New Banners!

I just love, love, love the Best Badge punch, the Duet Banners punch and all the stamps that go with them!  Yes, I love my Big Shot, but punches are quick and easy.

The birdcage in the Badges and Banners shows how versatile this stamp set is.  A few days ago, I made a more traditional card using this set, which you can see HERE!  Today’s card is very different, which show how versatile this set is!  This set is a much have for quick, easy cards.

I used the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP because I really don’t have much of the new DSP yet.  Yet the colors worked perfectly for what I wanted this card to look like.  I love the pink and black combination.  It is a classic choice.  Add a bow and you are done!

I Just Love My Little Green Friend!

I know I just did a frog card, but I had to do another once I noticed this firefly in the Jar of Love set!  Perfect for this little guy! And very funny with this sentiment. And while I got lots of new stamps, I did not order much DSP.  So, I had to be creative and make sure I used black & white in my color scheme.  I have always loved the combination of green and black, so it wasn’t hard for me to come up with a design.

I was stuck at home all this past weekend because the roads a in front of my house got new pavement and we cannot drive on the concrete for a few days. I decided I did not want to move my car up the street so I just kept it in the garage and decided to stay home.  If I really had to go somewhere, I could just “Uber” there, which I did Friday! For the weekend,   I took this dilemma as a perfect opportunity to stay home and catch up on projects, including some stamping!  Saturday, I missed going to an all day crop  with friends. The logistics of getting all my stamping supplies up the street into my car was not appealing for a Saturday morning. Especially since temperatures were expected to hit near 100 degrees today.  But we were able to share our work all day long by going “virtual”.  We texted messages and photos back and forth all day.  While I wasn’t there, I feel like I was part of the group for the day!  This is the kind of stuff I love about being part of the “Community of Stampin’ Up!”.

Well, this is the first of a few cards I made on Saturday.
