Coming Home For Christmas

December 15, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

There’s still time to make and send holiday cards!  And this card is not only easy to do, but fun as well because you get some coloring time in! I always love stamp designs that allow me to use Stampin’ Blends and do some color work.

The house and trees were all die cut, colored and adhered to the card after I got the corner sentiments on. If you haven’t taken a look at the Festive Corners stamp set, you should before it retires on January 4th! Its a multi holidays set that also has stamps for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Valentines Day!  What fun!

I craft exclusively with Stampin’ Up! products. And the nicest thing about using only this brand is the color system for Stampin’ Up! This color system has a core collection of 40 colors and 10 rotating fashion or “in Colors”. All the papers, embellishments and card stock are coordinated around these colors. I call it “stressless crafting”. And especially during the holiday when you are in rush and perhaps need some last minute cards, decor or packaging. Because I know all the papers, ribbons, embellishments and card stocks coordinate with the inks, I can sit down and create anytime! If you love handmade, this is the easiest and most stress free way to go!

Christmas Means More Now That It Is Almost Here!

December 9, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

It’s here! Almost. Holiday prep is gonna mean a whole lot more now that we are in high gear getting ready for it. My card today features the bold Christmas Means More set. This set feature big bold sentiments of some of the traditional sayings we associate with holiday movies. For this card, it seemed the stamped sentiment deserved all the attention and I made sure it got it!

The card makes a great WOW card, but I could also see this as a framed decor piece. The holly leaves and pine branches are from the Cherish The Season Suite die cuts and the berries are my favorite Red Rhinestones. I have gone through 3 packs already this year. I think I put them on everything.

The red star is one of the glitter star ornaments colored with Real Red. I used a sponge dauber and kept “daubing” until I got the shade red I liked. I also thought the sentiment needed a vintage look. I thought the houndstooth from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP fit that need well.

This card is all about big and bold and it would certainly bring a smile to anyone face who got it!  The rush is upon us. And the best stress reliever I have found is to find some time to stamp and make cards, tags, decor, gifts, whatever you like. The calm you get from crafting can’t be beat. And all the paper hugs you give this season will be so appreciated after this crazy 2020 year!

Snowman Season and Festive Corners Start The Holidays!

November 17, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

This jolly little guy was made using the Snowman Season and Festive Corners stamp sets. I wanted something light and cheery and the Heartwarming Hugs DSP was just the thing! A little Real Red Braided trim and a couple of embellishments set everything off perfectly.

If you like snowman or snow scenes, then the Snowman Season stamp set is perfect for you! With a choice of 3 jolly snowmen designs and a matching punch, your snow adventures can be many! And for unique borders, nothing beats the Festive Corners set. With fall, halloween, holiday and Valentine’s Day borders, you are set for months to come.

And what you cannot see on this card is the touch of sparkle on the snowman. Where I shaded in the snowman with the Light Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blend, I also colored over that with the Wink Of Stella. It tied the glitter in the star on the ribbon trim back to the snowman. Its a small touch, but it makes the card look special and very finished.
