Celebration Tidings for Magic In This Night

October 27, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

It’s time to mail those Halloween cards! And because we won’t be out roaming the streets in search of candy and other mischief,  a Halloween card will be especially welcome this year. So ditch the candy, but not the mask and get your Halloween cheer in the mail soon!

Here is a quick card that uses the wonderfully spooky spider paper from the Magic In This Night DSP. The paper does most of the work with a few die cut spiders to make it really creepy. The Metallic Mesh Ribbon and Iridescent Pearls give it a little glitz and sparkle for fun.

Joyful Holly In Good Taste

October 22, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Joyful Holly was one of those stamp sets I had to have. It is a 2-step stamping set, but I like to use my Stampin’ Blends whenever I can. So, coloring the stamped images was how I wanted to use this set.

As well, I really wanted these stamped images on a textured background. But that is hard to do when you want to use a coloring tool. So, I thought I would try it out on one of the In Good Taste DSP designs and  it turned out I loved how it worked.

The pattern in this DSP paper looked like a cozy winter knit you would find in a sweater or a blanket and the off-white color was perfect. I stayed with a traditional color scheme for Christmas, And then sparkled things up a bit with some red rhinestones and metallic edged ribbon.

This is a very simple stamped design, but using the textured “looking” background with coloring gave it a whole new look. And the added sparkle gave it added elegance. I didn’t stop there, though! I also embossed the background layer in Shaded Spruce using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. Its a bright holiday card with lots of texture for interest.

Hello Fall With Love Of Leaves

October 20, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

We are getting another blast of fall here, for about 2 days. Then back to the 80’s for a day and then “fall falls in” again for the weekend. “Start & stop” is the best way to describe seasonal changes in St Louis!

I was inspired to create this card from a wonderful Pinterest Post by Mindy Backes @BadabingPaperCrafting on Instagram. Her card has some great die embossing on it. But, I loved the simplicity of the idea and decided to do a CASE.

With this card I kept it simple fall colors and let the die cut tell the story just like Mindy did on her card. I love it when I find a Pinterest idea I can rework when my creativity needs a jump start!

Do you see the little tag that I stamped hello on? That was made using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. I simply took a 1/2″ strip of Crumbcake card stock and punched the end. Then I took the Take Your Pick tool and punched through the top of the punched tag to make the hole. The Lovely Labels Pick a Punch is one of the most versatile punches you can have in your collection.

To make the label stay where I wanted it on the card, I used a dimensional to make sure the card always looks perfect!  The die cut, layered rectangles and leaf die cut were also popped up with a dimensional.

Well, I hope some cool fall weather and colorful leaves are on the way to your part of the country. And that you take some time to enjoy some great fall crafting!
