Night Before Christmas Thinking of You

September 24, 2019 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Don’t you love this paper? Its from Night Before Christmas DSP, a vintage collection of great holiday images with a coordinating Memories & More Pack. This paper is one of my favorites from the collection. It looks like I have some of the trees cut out and popped up for dimension on the card. But in reality, it is just the way the images are shaded. I love that effect!

For this card, I decided to just go with the pop colors in the paper and chose Crushed Curry, Night of Navy and a touch of Old Olive for the sentiment. I also wanted some sparkle, so the lightbulbs at the top of the paper are blinded up with Wink of Stella, which you can’t see and the ribbon is actually the Gold Metallic Edged Very Vanilla ribbon colored with a Stampin’ Blends. Using a Stampin’ Blend is the perfect way to create a custom color ribbon or embellishment for any project!

Itty Bitty Christmas The NIght Before Christmas!

September 17, 2019 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Itty Bitty Christmas

This week I have been having fun with the Night Before Christmas DSP. I saw another stamper’s(Brian King) post, which you can see here that showcased some of this DSP and could not believe I never saw this Holly Paper before that.  I loved it, found it in my stash and have shamelessly CASED that card!  Sometimes you see work from another stamper and it is just too good not to try the same thing! And I say it is fine as long as you give credit where credit is due.

If you haven’t noticed the Night Before Christmas DSP in the new Holiday catalog, you should take a second look. These vintage inspired prints are done in colors that are trendy, up-to-date and perfect for the stamper who likes something a little more modern without straying too far from the traditional. Because the colors are so on trend, I though the chunky, curly ribbon was  a perfect touch. This is actually Real Red, but you can see it works fine with the Cherry Cobbler in the paper.

Take a look at all the other papers in this fun DSP!  The colors are bold and bright. And the designs are a little bit funky but traditional enough for any holiday project. The paper is my favorite 6″x6″ size in a paper stack.  Click on the image to see more ideas from this fabulously funky suite of products.

Making Ghoul Friends With Spooktacular Bash

September 11, 2019 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Spooktacular Bash

I had so much fun with a card I made with Spooktacular Bash, I decided to give it another go! That card was for a Demonstrator Swap Challenge I do once a month. So, it had to have a bit more stamping, layering and product. You can that card see HERE!  What I was trying to create with that card was a wall of portraits you might see in a haunted mansion.  I am using that idea again for the Global Design Project #GDP206, which is a sketch challenge.

Using a really “ghoul” sentiment from the stamp set, I framed it using one of the “monstrously” ornate die cuts in the Ornate Frames Die set. Then I chose the design from Monster Bash DSP that looked most like a wallpaper in a haunted house. The “fiendish” portraits were fussy cut from another paper in that set. There is a narrow strip of coordinating DSP and Pumpkin pie just to set off the sentiment and the portraits. Some Monster Bash enamel shapes were added for sparkle and that was it. A simple, easy to do card. I love how it came out! Spooktacular Bash and everything in the Monster Bash suite should be on your “must have” list for a truly “creepy” Halloween. See all the fabulous sentiments in this set below.
