Above The Clouds

June 11, 2019 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Above The Clouds

Its the new catalog and we are off on new stamping adventures! I thought Above The Clouds was the perfect set to launch a new series of stamps and all the excitement of a new catalog adventure. Here is to a good year and creating and sharing many happy memories for everyone.

This card features one of the new In Colors, Rococo Rose. I was keen to show that color right away as it is one of my favorites. I felt it worked well with the Mint Macaron.  The new In Color ribbon, which is a neutral with scalloped trim in each color is perfect with Crumb Cake.  Here is a close-up of the new ribbon. Beautiful, right?

If you haven’t take a look at all the new offerings in the catalog. I am highlighting some on my Facebook Page.  Just click on the Facebook logo above to follow me there.  And enjoy!  There is lots to love in this new book!

Giving Away Hugs With Paper Pumpkin

May 20, 2019 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

May 2018 Paper Pumpkin

I had a fun evening with my May 2019 Paper Pumpkin! It arrived via the mail in a pretty little box that matched the cards inside. And of course everything inside was beautiful!  I had my own acetate card boxes and decided to create individual gifts. And those,  I can store in the beautiful box in came in. Here’s what that box looks like. No wonder I want to keep it! It may well become a gift box itself some day.

Paper Pumpkin May 2019 Box

Wouldn’t you like getting that in the mail? It was a nice surprise. And fortunately I had some time last night to put it all together. I mostly followed the designs in this kit. I don’t always do that. But,  last night I just wanted to sit down and create for fun.  And coming up with designs can take time. What I did do as an original, is create little gift boxes by adding the cards to an acetate box and decorating the front of the box. You make 3 of 4 designs and the small acetate boxes are perfect to hold them.  Who wouldn’t like getting this as a little ‘thank you” or appreciation gift?

Decorating the outside of the boxes is easy to do as you usually get extras of everything in a Paper Pumpkin kit. You can buy the acetate boxes that fit the A1 cards at ClearBags.com. The style is FBP118.  I also have to say this month’s stamp set was worth the price of the kit.  The designs are beautiful! I don’t have the stamp images yet. But I can show you April’s set, which was just as beautiful and gave me the idea to create more gift boxes this month.  As a nice bonus from Paper Pumpkin,  each month you can download a case insert for your Paper Pumpkin stamp set and store them in clear DVD Cases. Here is a sample of April’s Paper Pumpkin and the download:

As you can see, they give you a nice print of each stamp, which is true to size(depending on  your printer). And then there is an image of the project so you can remember what the project looked like if you want to duplicate it later.  I don’t store my Paper Pumpkin stamps this nicely. But I think it is great they provide this for those who like to!

The upcoming June Paper Pumpkin looks just as exciting.  We don’t get to see the kit before it ships, but they do give us hints about what the project will be.  June’s kit has a seaside theme.  The idea behind June’s kit is to “spread kindness” and give away lots of little note cards. The kit includes a little card carrier you can keep with you to spread they kindness! This is truly the stamper’s way of paying it forward!  Here is a sneak peek and a video below to show what fun you could have with this set. Just click on either image to learn more, sign up or see the video.

So, how do you sign up for Paper Pumpkin? No problem, just click HERE!  Or on the sneak peek image above.

When you click through that link, it will take you to the Paper Pumpkin site where you can start a subscription. Your subscription can be ongoing or you can get June’s and see what you think. If this is not for you or if there is any month you look at the sneak peeks and decide that month’s kit is not for you, then you can cancel or pause your subscription. The monthly cost is $22 plus your state/local sales tax. The trick is sign up by the 10th of the month and cancel/pause by the 10th of the month. You create an account with a subscription and it is easy to go back to PaperPumpkin.com and pause/cancel. Simple as that. You just have to remember the 10th! And remember it before midnight Mountain Time!

Fun With A Little Elephant

May 15, 2019 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Little Elephant

This colorful card features a stamp that will carry over into the new catalog, Little Elephant.  So we will get to have fun with this cute guy all next year!

Each month I meet with a group of other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators for dinner and we swap cards and talk a little shop. The group was created so that this group would have a regular supply of new card samples and ideas to show to customers. We choose a theme and create cards around that.  This month, the theme was “Babies and Brides”.  Not to imply that one follows the other!  But this is the season for lots of Bridal and Baby events.  I chose Little Elephant because I love this set, but had not done much with it.  Because we want to keep the cards around to show, I decided to use the carryover In Colors and stay away from retiring Designer Series Paper.  So, this card is just simple and sweet. Which kinda makes it a great workshop card!

If you love this little guy and want him in your collection, he is still available at the special bundle price. But only until June 3rd! All the 2018-2019 bundle pricing retires with the catalog! And lots of new bundles appear June 4th in the new catalog!
