This week I am working on some holiday using the Under the Mistletoe DSP paper. The more of this I use, them more I like it. The colors are just perfect and the set uses two shades of green, Old Olive and Shaded Spruce.  Having 2 different greens in the set gives you lots of different looks. For today, I chose a paper that works with Real Red and Old Olive.

With all the white in the design of the paper, I also added lots of sparkle! And we have so many choices available right now for beautiful holiday sparkle!  I will show a few more cards this week using this happy, bright paper with a decidedly “retro” look.  Enjoy the series!

We will just call this “Wood Texture’s Week”!  A stamper’s version of Shark Week, I guess! Yes, I have another card to show using Wood Textures, but as I said in another post, this paper really is a great neutral.

I wanted to show off the elements in the Crafting Forever stamp and also match a layout for a challenge. I never did get the card done in time to enter it in the challenge, but once finished I really loved how it came out. The stamped images were colored using the Stampin’ Blends, which are a fabulous coloring medium. I also mounted the buddy cut images using glue dots so they would pop off the page a little. I thought that gave some interesting dimension to the card.

The color story is very earthy. I tried to use Stampin’ Blends that worked well with the Calypso Coral.  Click on any image to see the Stampin’ Up Products available in that color!

This simple little card using Jar of Love was made for my favorite country cousins who had just lost a family member.  Since they are far away, I wanted to make a special card that reflected their beautiful home in the country and maybe bring a little smile at this sad time.

Sympathy cards are never easy to do. Especially when you send to family members.  I try to keep a few on hand to send out when I need. But when it is for someone special, I prefer to take a little time and customize a card that I hope will bring comfort and be special to them.

I said the other day it seems like I use Wood Textures on everything.  I am beginning to think I do.  My next card will be on Wood Texture too!  But I have to say any of the Wood Textures is a fabulous neutral that adds a lot of interest to a card. And with so many wood tones to choose from, the possibilities are endless!  I chose this paper because I thought it was very similar to the new Gray Granite color.

And because color is such an important part of a card, I am trying something new!  I will try to include a “Color Story” for each card that will show the inks, paper, ribbon, etc. colors used in the card.  If you click on the color name below each color mark, it will take you to a page on my Stampin’ Up! shopping website that will show you everything available in that color.  Isn’t that cool?
