Today’s card uses Rooted in Nature for Global Design Project’s CASE the Designer Challenge.  This is the  #GDP148 Challenge.  For more terrific entries for this challenge, click on the image below:

As always, you will be able to see the fabulous creations the very talented Design Team does and all the designs entered into the challenge.  Of course, the idea was to CASE the card shown above.  My card served double duty as a swap card and the card for this challenge! And let me tell, you I loved that it could do both!  And I love cards with a big bold sentiment as the focal point.

The card uses the absolutely wonderful Rooted In Nature set, which I will be using a lot of this fall.  I also used the coordinating Nature’s Poem DSP and the Nature’s Twine in Grapefruit Grove.  I love Light/Dark color combinations and I was so happy to use the Fresh Fig/Grapefruit Grove color story with the paper I selected.  Wood Textures DSP was also used as the “neutral” paper instead of a white or vanilla. Wood Textures is becoming my signature paper!  I seem to use it for everything!

Today’s card uses the oh so cute set, Bike Ride!  Each month I participate in a swap with other Demonstrators. We call ourselves the “Designing Dozen” because this year we have each pick a month to host and whoever chooses that month chooses the set! For this month, my Upline and everyone’s favorite Diva, Nancy made the choice for us to use “Bike Ride”.  At first I was a little overwhelmed by this choice…or in my case, this challenge! And while I had noticed cards from this set now and then, I really never gave it a “try” or even a”second look”.

Well, after much muttering under my breath and silent protesting, I was really perplexed as to what I was going to do, but I finally found a card I loved by Tammi White and decided to CASE it!  You can see Tami’s card HERE!  CASEing a design made my life a lot easier and more fun!

So, after all my initial dismay, I have decided I just LOVE the Bike Ride set!  It is so cute and there are a lot of possibilities.

So, if you have noticed Bike Ride and haven’t given it a chance, I say DO IT!  It’s a lot of stamping and die cutting, but it’s a lot of fun too!

I have been wanting to try something with the Petal Promenade Paper since I saw a sample!  This is another set of “photo real” Designer Series Paper(DSP) Stampin’ Up! has done so well.  And in really big news, it was just confirmed that a Downton Abbey movie WILL be made! And this wonderful news inspired me to get out this beautiful paper that is reminiscent of so many Downton Abbey scenes and do something with it!

The design shown is one of my favorites in the set.  I love pale pinks against dark greens, so using Mossy Meadow with this paper was fun for me to do.  Because the paper is so dense in design, I decided to make a bold element and then layer it up a bit. It just seemed to go with the vintage look this paper inspires.

The Thank you sentiment was stamped, cut out with a circle punch and popped onto the detailed circle die cut.

The Mossy Meadow shape and the stamped Thank You design area all from Stitched All Around, which I think is a perfect set for this paper.  I used some die cuts from Flourish Thinlits Dies(matches Flourish Phrases stamp set)  and then finished it up with a scrap of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, some twine and a few pearls! So fun to do!
