Everything Timeless Tropical

February 25, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

I did not start out trying to use almost everything in the Timeless Tropical Suite in this card. I had a design idea in mind and it just ended up I used just about everything in the suite! Product suites are entire groupings of coordinated items that usually revolve around a theme. For Timeless Tropical, its all about vintage tropical…definitely a 50’s and 60’s Hawaiian vibe. I love the papers in this suite and the one with this “woody”station wagon is my favorite. I had the idea of creating a frame and making the paper the centerpiece of the frame. And this card is what I came up with.

The version you see here was supposed to be embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder. But somehow, I used the Basketweave embossing folder! I did not notice it until I was gluing it down. But honestly, it works! So, I left it. The Coastal Weave 3D Embossing folder has more of a rattan look to it. But with the dark sheet of DSP I choose, Basketweave works. I may have done the card over again if it had been a lighter color or the design really required a rattan look.

I wanted a yellow card stock for the sentiment, but not too bright, so I choose So Saffron. The flower embellishments are stickers from the Tropical Oasis Memories & More. A great add-on to many of the Designer Series Papers that Stampin’ Up! offers. I use the Memories & More quite often. The “assemblage” for the corner of the frame also used a Tropical Oasis metal trinket and I added a little bit of Linen Thread to tie it all together. A strip of the Braided Burlap Trim was added to reinforce the vintage feel of the card. The frayed ends also add the the vintage look.

I really love the sentiment with the vintage car. Timeless is a perfect description for this beautiful suite of vintage products! If you like tropical, you will love this Product Suite!

Happy Birthday From The Clubhouse

Clubhouse Stampin' Up!

If golfing is a thing for you or anyone in your family, the Country Club Suite is a must have! With such a unique set of stamps, papers and embellishments, golfing fans have been waiting on this set for a long time! I used to be a golfer and I know enough golfers to want to send them a really special birthday card. So, for me Country Club was an easy choice. The plaids & argyles are beautiful enough to have just for the paper if golf stamps aren’t on your list.  Click on the image below to view the papers and accessories as well as the stamps and dies.

This card uses the DSP, the Argyle Embossing Folder and the matching dies as well as the matching Twine. The possibilities are endless with this set and I look forward to seeing what I can do with the plaid papers!  The bold colors along with the Argyle and Plaid patterns are great for masculine themed cards of all types, not just golf!

Pressed Petals DSP Is Perfect For Valentines!

February 13, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Here is quick and easy card using Pressed Petals DSP and a Valentine-perfect sentiment from Incredible Like You.  I had been on a personal challenge to use more of the Pressed Petals DSP.

It is a beautiful paper and I love vintage looks for Valentine’s cards. This was very quick and simple to put together because the gorgeous paper is most of the card! I kept the add ons and layering confined to a small space at the bottom of the card to show off the paper. The Merry Merlot was chosen to frame the paper because I thought it really popped the flowers on the DSP. The DSP is coordinated with Mossy Meadow, but I thought Old Olive brightened up the card, so I used Old Olive as the case card stock. What’s really funny is I used the Old Olive side of the Pretty Peacock-Old Olive 3/8″ Ribbon and Mossy Meadow Linen Thread, but each looks like the other! But, I think it worked.

The sentiment uses Swirly Frames, the sentiment from Incredible Like You and Merry Merlot Hearts  cut using the Detailed Bees dies. Because I am always looking for “more” I punched out a couple of leaves I had stamped using the Painted Harvest set. I didn’t really need them as they disappear into the background, but I liked them, so I kept them. I could have added a Merry Merlot accent with the leaves, but I think that would  have been going too far! A little bit of ribbon and some twine and the card was done. It couldn’t get any simpler than that!

I hope you all have a nice Valentine’s Day!
