Very Simply Susan

Today’s card uses a retired stamp set that many of you may still have. The stories and scenes coming out of Australia have been difficult to hear about and see. And I wanted to create a card that would show some support for Australia. This cute guy certainly came to mind right away for this card. And I was glad I still had him! It has the perfect message, we are thinking of you, Australia! #thinkingofyouAustralia

Here’s another card I created for Australia. The stamp set is Animal Outing, which is in the current Annual Catalog. I think the Kangaroo with the Koala in its pouch is just perfect for this! The sentiment is from the Meerkats set that is part of Sale-a-Bration.

My “Thinking of You” cards are dedicated to all the Australian Demos who have become friends over the years as we share online and meet each other at events. We are thinking of you and wishing you and your families well. Stay safe! As well, the firefighters working so hard to stop the fires.

The Peaceful Poppies suite in the new Stampin’ Up! mini catalog features so many beautiful stamps, papers and dies. This card was for a challenge and the beautiful dip made assembling a quantity of cards fast and easy. And still gave the card a custom look. Not to mention beautiful! The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, which has some of the nicest sentiments in the entire Stampin’ Up! collection. It’s really is a “must have”!  You can see all the great sentiments below.

The vellum die cuts are from the coordinating Peaceful Poppies Elements. I love the idea of these. You get a pack of several sheets die cuts. Having die cuts ready to go makes card making fast and easy! I added a little color to the center of the flower with a Stampin’ Blend. But that’s all I had to do.

The piece of ribbon is the Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon colored with a Stampin’ Blend. Having white ribbon on hand along with Stampin’ Blends means you can have coordinating ribbon for any project.

I love it when new stamp sets work with ones I already have. While I love the images in the Timeless Tropical stamps set, I needed a smaller scale to work with the sentiment. My much loved Tropical Chic stamp set was just the thing to pull this card all together!

The die cut palm fronds with the stamped flowers from Tropical Chic perfectly framed the vintage look of the sentiment from Timeless Tropical. Using the Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder gave both the background paper and the DSP a “wicker rattan” look that worked well with the floral paper.  The Braided Burlap trim with the frayed ends tied it all together. All the textures and textured looks in the Tropical Oasis Suite add a rich, vintage look to projects. I can’t wait to create more with this suite of products!
