Wow! That flew by fast and other Witty-Cisms!

January 7, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

This card design was one I had percolating in my mind ever since I got the new “Witty-Cisms” set from the 2020 Jan. – June Mini Catalog! We all talk about how fast the year goes by and I thought this stamp conveyed that perfectly! I think I must have gone through about 5 designs trying to come up with a design that worked. Finally, I just cut out a calendar and added the sentiment. Even now, it may not be exactly what I want, but it gets the point across!

This stamp is part of a set designed by Lisa Fast who is a Million Dollar Sales Achiever. When you achieve a Million dollar in sales, you get to work with the Stampin’ Up! Design team on a new stamp design. I think the sentiment I used was Lisa “Fast” indicating how “fast” she made this achievement! You can see more sentiments for this stamp set HERE!  This one was a “must have” for me! The artwork and sentiments are hilarious.

Yes, 2019 did fly by! But 2020 brings so many good things I look forward to! One of them is the 2020 Jan.-June Mini Catalog! You should have gotten a copy from me by now and I am sure you have had lots of fun looking at everything inside. It is a beautiful catalog with lots of wonderful stamp sets. If a new catalog is not enough, don’t forget it is “Sale-A-Bration”! That means FREE Stamps with each $50 you order!

If you don’t have a catalog, click on the image below to check it out! Or anytime you are on my blog, you can click on the catalogs tab at the top of the page and scroll down to see all current catalogs.

To see all the wonderful FREE stamps you can get during “Sale-A-Bration”, click on the image below.

And one more thing to mention that I am absolutely SOOO excited about! I was the winner for the last Global Design Project #221, a color challenge.  What this means is that I get to be a Guest Designer on the next Global Design Project color challenge! I can’t believe it! What a great start to 2020!  To see the card I designed for this challenge, please click on the image below. And make sure you sign up for the mailing list for this challenge so you can see all the great ideas the challenge contestants come up with. My turn as guest designer is a few weeks away.  And of course, you will see my card on my blog when the challenge happens!

Happy New Year!

January 1, 2020 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Happy New Years Card

It’s a brand New Year and we are off to new adventures! Wishing everyone a happy New Year with everything you wish for!

My card today is pretty simple. The Feels Like Frost DSP is featured. And while its gone for now, it will be back in the next catalog for Holiday 2020. So, keep an eye out for this fabulous paper with snow scenes on one side and silver metallic designs on the other. The sentiment is from Playful Penguins and one of the best New Year’s sentiments I have seen. This cutie of a stamp set retires January 2nd, so grab it if you like it!

I die cut the sentiment with the Ornate Frames dies. My intention had been to use the silver metallic side of the DSP, but once I saw the other side, I liked it better. This die looked to me like a wintery, snowy die. Even though it was part of the Halloween suite this year, I think it works great for so many card types.

It’s a simple card with a simple wish! Enjoy 2020! Some of my resolutions include cleaning up my craft room and getting ready for spring crafting! And every year I resolve to stamp and craft more! We’ll see how that goes….

Christmas Wrapped In Plaid for #GDP221

December 25, 2019 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are enjoying your holiday just as you like. With both Christmas and Hanukkah celebrations this week, it certainly is a time for festivity and happiness! I wish everyone a happy day today!

Today’s card was inspired by the fabulous color challenge at Global Design Project #GDP221. This extended challenge runs 2 weeks, so there will be many wonderful projects coming before the challenge ends. The color combination can be as sophisticated or as rustic as you want for designs. It can also be modern or masculine. It is truly a versatile color story to design around. I wanted to do a Christmas card, so I chose a design I will call “traditional elegant”.  You can see more designs by clicking on the image below.

This card features the Wrapped In Plaid DSP. While the paper I chose doesn’t really have Early Espresso in it, it certainly works well with that color. There is a touch of gold in the ribbon and the paper for the elegant look. And the sentiment stamped on a piece of the retired Wood Texture DSP is a little bit of rustic. It’s my last Christmas card of the season. I am a little bit sad to start putting away all my holiday stamps and papers. But I really look forward to showing you all the new items for spring! I received some of those through the Demonstrator preview and can’t wait to share new ideas!
