Thankful Autumn Is Here!

September 29, 2017 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Painted Harvest, Painted Autumn DSP, STAMPIN' UP!

Yes, I am thankful the Fall Equinox occurred last Friday and Autumn should be on the way soon. Yet this week there seems like little hope for it with 90 degree weather!  It is very unusual to have it so hot so late in the year. But the cool weather is coming Friday and fall will start to take shape here.  I just decorated my house for Halloween and Harvest and I was inspired to start making some Thanksgiving & Harvest cards.  Decor items are next!

This particular card was made for a swap I did recently.  It is a little over the top in layers, but it made for a really beautiful card. And I love the Foil Snowflakes in the holiday catalog. But this Autumn themed card shows they can be used as something other than a snowflake! Included in the layers is some metallic thread which really framed the card, but doesn’t show up well in this image.

The little “twigs” are from the Eclectic Layers Thinlets. I just happened to like the look, but you could change it up with any “twig” Thinlet you might have. Everyday Jars has some “twigs” that would be just as perfect.

September 2017 Paper Pumpkin Is Beautiful!

September 27, 2017 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Paper Pumpkin September 2017, STAMPIN' UP!

Isn’t this just beautiful?  These are items subscribers received in the September 2017 Paper Pumpkin! It included the 3″ x 3″ note cards you see here. The mini pizza box is from the 2017 Holiday Catalog and was just the thing for making a cute gift package for these note cards.  You also get 8 embossed pillow boxes you see below that can be used in your Thanksgiving place settings or as fall gifts.  The image below shows everything that comes in the box to make these projects, including the baker’s twine with gold metallic thread!

Wow! Was this package a wonderful surprise. I didn’t really have time, but I made time last night to create the notecards and the mini pizza gift box. All the leaves were die cut, so assembling these cards was a snap. Absolutely no stress stamping!  It took me maybe an hour to make all of these.  And it was a wonderful hour of stamping, almost like a mini vacation.

Here’s an idea from Stampin’ Up for “alternative designs” for this month’s kit.  There are no rules that you have to follow the instructions exactly!  That is more of the fun of Paper Pumpkin!

And for more inspiration, take a look at all of the items that came in this month’s kit!  All this fun for $19.95! You can see why the kits are a great way to build up your stamp collection and supplies at a very affordable monthly cost.

Now for some really BIG news!  The October and November Paper Pumpkins are coordinating kits!  Yes, you read that right.  In the two kits, you will have everything you need to complete unique holiday cards and gifts. Here is an opportunity for some no stress crafting this holiday! And handmade cards and gifts family and friends will appreciate. And I think from looking at the image, there are some preprinted mini pizza boxes in the kits! I can’t be sure because we don’t get previews of the kits. They are a surprise to everyone.  But check out the image below and let me know what you think! Just remember, sign up by October 10th by clicking HEREPaper Pumpkin October 2017

Spooky Cat starts making an appearance!

September 25, 2017 Filed Under: Gallery, Project Gallery

Spooky Cat, Spooky Nights DSP

Yes, its time to start thinking about Halloween.  October is almost here!  The Spooky Cat stamp set and matching Cat Punch are just the thing to start the season off!  Recently, I made name tags for a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator meeting and the focal piece on the card was one of the left overs.  Our meeting was all about the new Occasions Catalog and getting ready for the upcoming holiday season.  It was a great day and I enjoyed seeing other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators and learning new things from them!  Many thanks to Sally Nussbaum for organizing a great day for us!  Here’s a picture of the name tags:

Spooky Cat, Spooky Nights DSP

Because I had one left over, I decided, why not make a card?  I had been wanting to try a Halloween themed card using the Wood Textures DSP Stack.  It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for this spooky cat!  I simply layered in some Spooky Nights DSP and stamped a sentiment from Spooky Nights and I was done! The name tags were done using the cat punch and cutting out the cat from a piece of the Spooky Nights DSP.  The pumpkin is cut out from the same set of DSP. This is a fabulous idea from Stampin’ Up and I have created several projects by doing this. The leaf is from Painted Harvest and punched out using the leaf punch. Hurrah Stampin’ Up! for giving us more punches this year!

It is time to get in “spook mode” everyone, so take a look at the new 2017 Holiday Occasions catalog by clicking on the “CATALOGS” tab above and see all the wonderful new stamps, papers and ideas.
